Your task is to decide whether or not to get a credit card when you graduate high school, to choose one, and decide how much credit you should apply for.

You will need to present the pros and cons of having a credit card and all the terms used. You will compare different cards. From your research you will create an informational credit booklet that offers recommendations and advice for other students.

Some of the questions you will find answers to include:

  • What is credit?
  • What's the difference between credit cards, charge cards and debit cards?
  • Why do people use credit cards?
    • What are the advantages of having a credit card?
    • What are the disadvantages?
  • How do you compare different credit cards?
    • What does it cost to use a credit card?
    • How much will he interest or finance charge add to the cost of what you're buying?
    • How much will it cost every month?
    • Can you afford to pay this bill every bill every month?
    • How long will it take you to pay off what you borrowed?  
  • What is a credit rating?
  • What are the risks of using credit?
  • What happens if you don't repay the money you borrowed?
    • How will you make payments if you have an unexpected emergency, like losing a job?
